People always think that if they lost 40% like they did in 2008 then thats all they need to get back to even, but in fact they need the market to go up nearly 70% in order to get back to even. One thing this article fails to mention is the ability to make money when the market goes down on the short side.... Thats one thing that always bugs me with the media is they convince everyone that there is no choice, but to stay long and take it on the head.
