Technical Market Update
Put some charts together going from short term to long term. Showing the current conditions of the market with some commentary on the snapshots.
- First is a 10 day chart with a 60 minute sample rate and a 50 day Moving Average. This chart shows short term trends including the confirmed downtrend from 8/17/09 and the reversal and breakout on 8/21/09.
More charts on the full post…
- Second is a 6 month chart sampled daily with a 50 day moving average.
- Third is a 2 year chart with a weekly sampling rate and a 50 day moving average. This is a good way to show more of a long term analysis as the stochastics usually only make top to bottom or bottom to top moves a few times a year.
- Last is the big daddy. Its a 3 year chart with a monthly sampling rate. In layman terms this shows big overall moves in the market that last for months. Interesting where we currently are on stochastics.
Thoughts??

It all depends on teh stochastics settings – I use a 10 day and the monthly looks very healthy – but I agree to the general overbought condition on daily & weekly & volume.
Thats true about the stochastics settings John and thanks for pointing that out. We need to put a post together with a breakdown of the stochastics.
What percentage would you say the 10 day setting is at on the monthly?
